What we offer
Meat packs, breeding stock, wool, farm visits and screen work
Rare breed meat packs
Meat packs are the heart of what we do: slow grown, grass fed beef, lamb, hogget, mutton, pork and heritage turkey, reared here and butchered to order. Because these traditional breeds mature slowly, the meat has far more flavour and succulence than anything you will find on a supermarket shelf.
We build packs to suit all budgets, from a small mixed pack to a half or whole animal, and everything is priced on enquiry. All orders are collected from the farm at Raskelf by arrangement — we don’t post or deliver meat.

“We've tried the lamb, pork, beef and turkey and it's by far better than meat from supermarkets. Great taste.”
Victoria Wilkinson
“Got half a lamb recently. Best lamb we've ever had. So tasty and very lean. All with the added good feeling of buying local. Looking forward to trying the beef we've just bought.”
Sarah Crane Harrison
“The best beef you will ever eat — just so tender and full of flavour.”
Liz Westmoreland

Breeding stock & starter flocks
We usually have breeding stock for sale, and lambs available over the summer at weaning from most of our breeds. We can help put together starter flocks and are always happy to advise on the suitability of different breeds for new keepers.
Ask what’s availableFleeces and wool rugs
Raw fleeces from our rare breed flocks are available from March onwards, along with wool rugs. Fleece character varies enormously between our breeds, from the long lustrous Devon and Cornwall Longwool to the short, soft primitive wools of the Soay and Boreray. Just get in touch for details and availability.

Educational farm visits
Educational farm visits for nursery classes, school groups and clubs: an interactive tour of our small farm learning about Britain’s native farm breeds, where these animals came from around the British Isles, and why it is so important to preserve them for the future.
Around the farm we meet traditional breeds, including the most ancient sheep breed from the Outer Hebrides, four-horned Iron Age sheep from the Isle of Man, and some of Britain’s rarest sheep, pigs, goats and poultry. The British Saddleback pigs are always a favourite with children, and if you are lucky we may have a litter of piglets to see too. There is also the option to visit our herd of Irish Moiled cattle, which involves a short drive under your own transport.
During the tour the group learns about the responsibility a farmer has each day to let out and feed the stock. There will be an opportunity to feed the poultry and meet the ducks and chickens — and we let out the noisy geese at the end of the tour! To conclude, we have a discussion about what the animals produce, with a small display of yarn, fleeces, milk, eggs and knitted items, and of course the “Who laid which egg?” quiz.
Visits usually start at 9.30am and finish at 12pm, but can be altered to suit your requirements. Contact us for more information and prices.
